Evaluations, Testing & Assessments

Not always. Some clients contact us directly, while others are referred by a physician, therapist, attorney, court, employer or other professional.

The evaluation is designed around the referral question. Measures are selected based on the information needed rather than using one standard testing battery for every client. 

Length of time for each evaluation varies considerably. Some assessments can be completed relatively quickly, while more comprehensive evaluations may require a few months of multiple appointments, testing, record review and preparation of a written report. 

Many evaluations include a written report or summary of findings. The format and release of reports may differ when an evaluation has been requested by a court, attorney, employer or another third party. If you are requesting the evaluation for yourself, you will receive a copy. If the evaluation was requested by a third party (i.e., court, attorney, etc.) then you will not receive a copy of it.

Some medically necessary diagnostic or court ordered counseling may be covered by insurance. Court, custody, immigration, employment, drug and alcohol and other specialized assessments and evaluations are an out-of-pocket expense but may be reimbursed by your insurance. Coverage should be verified with the Center before services begin. 

Some interviews and components of an evaluation may be completed virtually when clinically and professionally appropriate. Certain testing, assessments and specialized evaluations require in-person appointments. 

Availability depends on the type of evaluation requested and the clinician providing the service. Please contact us so we can determine whether we can appropriately meet the referral need.
